Water Outage Throughout PUVFD Fire District

A water line break in a primary transmission line that serves a large portion of the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County's customers south of Route 30 has occurred causing water outages and/ or low water pressure in many areas. The areas of Pleasant Unity, Lycippus, Whitney, Hostetter, Marguerite, Westmoreland Air Park, Humphreys and Dryridge in Unity Township as well as Trauger in Mount Pleasant Township are all affected.
The MAWC has also issued a "BOIL WATER ALERT" for these areas. Updates on the boil water alert can be followed on the MAWC website at www.mawc.org.
They are working on repairing the broken line but no timeframe for repairs have been given.
