UPDATE - AS OF APPROXIMATELY 12:15 PM THIS DATE - THE WESTMORELAND COUNTY 911 CENTER IS BACK FULLY ON LINE.
Note: Firefighters were available at the Unity Township Fire Stations during the outage to answer station phones and handle walk-in contacts during the outage. We also were able to have crews available "in station" for immediate response due to the fact we knew there would possibly be a delay being notified of an emergency. Your Unity Township Emergency Management Agency (EMA) was also activated and staffed the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in the Public Safety Building at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. All Unity Township Fire Companies can be dispatched from our EOC on backup radio systems. A few minor incidents were handled by Unity Township Fire Companies during this outage. Our Township backup plan worked as designed and provided no known delays in emergency responses. As always, please thank the dedicated firefighters and EMA staff who provided the emergency backup during the outage.
